Time and time again I get brides who ask me “Why are linens so expensive”! To which I respond…”Not all linens are expensive…silk cost more then polyester”! Kennedy Couture Linens offers a wide range of linens in different price points. From $5 polyester table runners to $275 custom hand beaded silk cake table linens. Higher-end fabrics, fabrics with intricate detail and custom items cost more and it’s important to keep this in mind when selecting your linens. When selecting wedding linens or any wedding detail for that matter, be sure to follow my three golden rules of price shopping:

1.Be upfront and honest with your vendors about what you can afford to spend
2.Be realistic about the look you are trying to achieve and the budget you have set
3.Be flexible and open to exploring similar looks or items within your budget.

Clueless about linens and fabrics? Here is a helpful pricing guide based on fabric. Keep in mind prices will varie from company to company but this should give you a starting point.

Polyester Linens-This is considered a budget linen and is the least expensive floor length linen. Prices will range from $11-$15 per linen for a standard 120″ Round Linen.
Satin Linens-This can be anything from Lamour, Brushed Satin, Bridal Satin or Charmeuse Satin. Expect to pay $18-$25 per linen for a standard 120″ Round Linen.
Taffeta Linens-This includes Solid Taffeta, Pintuck Taffeta, Crinkle Taffeta, Twisted Taffeta etc. Expect to pay $25-$28 per linen for a standard 120″ Round Linen.
Standard Specialty Linens-These linens are higher end linens and include popular fabrics such as Ribbon Taffeta, Button Taffeta, Crinkle Shimmer Satin, Nova, Silk, Shantung (Duponi). Expect to pay $35-$45 per linen for a standard 120″ Round Linen.
Couture Linens-These include linens with lots of detail, beading or 100% silk linens. Linens like our Satin Rosette and Taffeta Lily Pad. Expect to pay $50-$100 per linen.

Floor length – 132″ Round Linen

4′ Banquet Table:

Floor length – 90″x108″ Banquet Linen
Lap length – 54″x120″ Banquet Linen (will be a tad bit long on the ends)

6′ Banquet Table:

42″ High Boys

As for bistro tables set at 42″ high, we would suggest a 120″round linen if you plan to let the linen drop to the floor, or a 132″ round linen if you plan on using a tie to wrap the linen at the pole. What ever size you choose, be aware of the diameter of the table top because that will determine how far the linen will fall!

Ughhhh Math?

When in doubt…you can always follow this simple formula:
(size of linen in inches) – (diameter, or length of table in inches)/2 = how far linen will drop to the floor ex. (120″-60″)/2 = 30″ to the floor (which is normal table height)
